What is TOPSoccer?

The Washington State Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a program that enables children with physical and or cognitive disabilities to play soccer.  The program, designed and administered by US Youth Soccer, is supported by Washington Youth Soccer. It provides meaningful learning, development and physical participation opportunities to these young players. TOPSoccer was formed to perpetuate the US Youth Soccer mission statement, which is, "to foster the physical, mental, and emotional growth and development through the sport of soccer at all levels of age and competition."  Our goal is to enable people with disabilities develop their physical fitness, technical skills and self-esteem, through the joy and excitement of playing soccer and help them become valued and successful members of the US Youth Soccer family.

TOPSoccer is not geared towards any specific type of disability and is open to any boy or girl 4 years old and up.  There are varied types of participation to meet the needs of any child that wishes to participate.

Tukwila TOPSoccer

The Spring 2010 TUSK TOPSoccer training sessions are now complete.  Check back in September for the TOPSoccer fall training schedule.

Players, buddies and coaches that did not participate in the fall TOPSoccer training will need to register.  If you registered and attended the fall training sessions, there is no need to re-register.

Training sessions are typically scheduled on Saturdays.

  • Training is held at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila on Saturdays from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
  • All training occurs on indoor soccer field #1.
  • Starfire parking is free for TOPSoccer participants - tell the parking attendants you are there for TOPSoccer so you do not get charged for parking.  New 2010 parking passes are available from Alice Russell.
  • All coaches and buddies must register and be RMA cleared - no prior experience is required.
  • Volunteers are needed to bring snacks, juice and water each Saturday.

Please consider volunteering to be a TOPSoccer coach or buddy.  It is a richly rewarding experience for both buddies and athletes, and in the process you will be helping make soccer truly "a game for all kids".
