Registration for the SCORE MOD spring soccer season is now closed but there may still be openings at a few age groups. E-mail the registrar for more information. The spring season starts Sunday, April 1st and consists of 8 games over 11 weeks, with no games played on Easter, Mother's Day or Memorial Day. The season schedule is available on the Schedules page.
SCORE is pleased to announce the 27th annual 6-A-Side tournament will be held on Saturday, July 28th at its traditional location on the grass fields at Renton High School. Team registration opens May 21. 6-A-Side is held in conjunction with Renton River Days and has been part of this community festival since its inception in 1985.
The 2011 6-A-Side was one of the most successful tournaments in SCORE's history with 84 teams participating, and we expect near-record numbers again this year. Results and highlights from last year's 6-A-Side are still available.
The May club meeting wil be held on Monday, May 14th, 7:30pm at Doofer's Bar & Grill. Agenda items will include spring season updates, Patriots and Eagles select tryouts, any updates on the proposed changes to the structure of our Greater Renton Junior Soccer Association (GRJSA) and recruitment of volunteers. The club meeting will be followed by a meeting of the board. Doofer's Bar & Grill is located near Castle Ice at 16430 SE 128th St in Renton (map).
SCORE's BU11 Blue Dragons team had a fantastic first season at the select level, winning the District 3 Silver Division 2 outright with a 10-1-1 record. Coach Giff Visick was impressed with the steady improvement of his boys play over the course of the fall season.
Jerry Carlson's Eagles team tied for the BU15 District 3 Recreational Division championship with a dominant 10-1-0 record.

The Boys U17 Eagles 94 team acquitted themselves well in the US Club Pacific Coast Super Cup regional tournament, winning 3 of 4 games and narrowly losing to the eventual tournament champion. Battling a series of injuries, the Eagles boys notched wins over South Hill Revolution, Tynecastle FC 94 and Oregon's HSC Toros, led by Samuel Bunnell (2 goals), Josh Johnson, Devin Sando and Casey Guay (1 goal each). Tournament play consisted of two weekends, January 28-29 at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila and February 18-20 in the Portland area, with teams entered from Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

In what is becoming an annual tradition, SCORE donated two more nets for the goals at Hazen High School. SCORE Board Member and VP of Competition, James Goss, presented a check from SCORE to cover the costs of the nets to Ken Matthews, Hazen boys and girls soccer team coach, at a short ceremony prior to the Hazen vs. Kennedy game on Thursday, October 20th at Renton Stadium.
The Eagles 94 boys added more hardware to their trophy case by defeating the Sun City Strikers 2-0 in the championship match to win the Starfire Labor Day Cup on a hot September afternoon. The Eagles boys started slowly in the tournament, narrowly advancing out of group play, but finished strong with 3 straight wins over FC Alliance White, Fusion FC 94 from Canada and Sun City. Josh Johnson and Devin Sando notched 3 goals each, while Marcelo Castro and Samuel Bunnell each added a goal, and the Eagles defense only conceded one goal in its last 3 matches to take the title. Congratulations Eagles 94!
The August 5-7 weekend was a big one for Patriots girls teams! The Patriots 97 girls won the Federel Way Blast-Off GU14 Bracket C championship in decisive fashion, by blanking Sparta 97 2-0 in the championship game. According to Patriots 97 coach Collin Fowler, the girls used skill, ability and confidence to win 2 of 3 group play games and came back to win the final by defeating the only team they lost to in group play.
The Patriot 96 girls went to the Marysville Strawberry Classic and brought home silver hardware, advancing to the championship match by winning 2 of 3 in group play, but dropping the final in a hard-fought match. Coach James Goss says this is his team's best summer ever, after also winning the SCORE 6-A-Side championship in July.
Congratulations to both the Patriot 96 and 97 teams for a great summer tournament season!
The Eagles 94 boys were one of only two teams in GRJSA invited to participate in the Far West President's Cup regional tournament in Medford, Oregon held on June 16-20. As a WSYSA Challenge Cup finalist, the Eagles 94 boys accepted a wild card berth to Regionals, where tournament winners advance to Nationals in Tennessee. The Eagles boys had a great tournament, winning games against Fusion FC (Utah) and group winner Hemet Juventus (Cal South wild card), and narrowly missed advancing to the championship match.

great honor for the Eagles 94 boys to represent the state of Washington and SCORE at the regional finals. Of the 18 Washington teams participating in Regionals at all age levels, only one team had
a better record than our Eagles. SCORE congratulates them on an epic 2009-10 campaign and continued success on the pitch in
2010-11!

This tournament is hosted by the Tukwila/Skyway Soccer Club and takes place on the weekend following the spring MOD season, and thus is a great way to finish off the spring season for SCORE MOD teams.
